• Before I joined, there were four engineers and the firm couldn’t clear grants on time. I stabilized the operation and got data deliverables moving reliably and on-time. This directly fed organization success and scaling the team to fifteen engineers to keep up with the added volume of work. The data pipeline was a 24/7 system which processed nearly 100k human genomes totalling 100PB of data.

• Led development of a high-volume web publishing platform for microbial genomes and viruses.
• Published thousands of genomes in hundreds of projects, versioned correctly and packaged for general use.
• Many years in the trenches with scientists on a composable microbial/viral genome pipeline platform; the volume of data grew 10000x over my time there.

• I worked in the tools and test group, eventually becoming a technical and project lead. Trained nontechnical people to perform testing and contribute to the test suite. The firm was bicoastal, I learned to contribute and direct work remotely.
