I studied Engineering at NIT Patna, and later spent time at IIM Ahmedabad studying digital business strategy. That combination trained me to look at both systems and markets — and to notice when a process is fundamentally broken. I first saw it while working at Cisco. The company was growing quickly. Hiring had become constant. But the recruiting process hadn't scaled with the organisation. One recruiter sat a few desks away from me. She told me she did her best recruiting work between 4 and 6 PM... after the sourcing block, after the admin work, when the process finally got out of her way. The rest of her day was spent building lists, sending outreach that rarely got replies, chasing responses, and scheduling calls that confirmed what the resume already said. Because recruiters can't speak with every relevant candidate, the industry solved for scale in the wrong direction. It built better filters instead of enabling more conversations. Resumes in tracking systems. Keywords. Pipelines. Recruiting doesn't need another filter. It needs a way to have more conversations.
