I joined Microsoft right after graduation, partly because everyone told me it would be the “right first step.” And it was. I wrote a lot of code, learned structure, scale, and how large systems operate. But I also realized I was wired differently. I wanted to build, break, and rebuild. Today, I run Tangent.ai, where we help beauty and skincare brands understand what their customers actually need using quick quizzes and selfies. Simple on the surface, but powerful underneath. $100M+ beauty and haircare brands use Tangent to guide shoppers, recommend the right products, and make online buying feel less like guesswork. On average, brands see customers spending 2–3× more per order, and in one case, we helped drive a 4× jump in revenue per customer through a selfie-led quiz. Results like that are why this space keeps getting more exciting. Before Tangent, that instinct to build turned into Appiterate, which I started with a few friends. We wanted to make app optimization simpler and ended up creating one of the world’s first visual A/B testing tools for mobile. It was scrappy, chaotic, and unbelievably fun. A few years later, Flipkart acquired us and that experience showed me how far conviction and a tight team can go. Tangent.ai grew out of that same instinct: solving real problems with technology people actually use. We started working on AI long before it became a buzzword.
