Vishwesh (VJ) Jirgale — CEO
Most engineering problems aren’t technical; they’re organizational, cultural, or incentive-driven. I’ve spent my career building and leading engineering teams at high-growth SaaS companies, helping them scale without burning out people or shipping chaos. My focus is on creating systems where strong engineers do their best work, products ship predictably, and leaders don’t become bottlenecks. I’ve led teams across multiple stages from early growth to large, distributed orgs, and I care deeply about: - Clear ownership and accountability - Sustainable engineering velocity - Thoughtful use of process (just enough, never too much) - Building managers who multiply impact Alongside operating roles, I invest in and advise early-stage startups, typically where technology is a core differentiator, and founders prioritize long-term craftsmanship over short-term growth hacks. I write and speak about engineering leadership, productivity, and building effective teams, sharing lessons learned the hard way so others don’t have to. 📍 Open to conversations around scaling engineering orgs, leadership challenges, and early-stage SaaS. Boring stuff ahead: As Head of Engineering at ModernLoop, I partnered with our CTO to scale the company from zero to a multi-million dollar business, building the people, processes, and culture along the way. I also served as one of our in-house PMs, bridging engineering and product. I'm passionate about two things: solving productivity problems and building remote-first teams that actually work. Two successful acquisitions have reshaped my career: Quickoffice → Google (2012): Joined as an early employee in 2008, scaled to leadership, built and managed a large Pune team Acompli → Microsoft ($200M, 2014): Early engineering leader who built the remote Pune team; our app became Outlook Mobile across iOS, Android, and MacOS Between these milestones, I've led engineering organizations at MindTickle (user-facing applications), Slack (Site Lead & EM, Pune office), and Microsoft (Outlook on MacOS, iOS, Android). Earlier in my career, I held development and technical leadership roles at Sigma Software, Persistent Systems, Good Technologies (acquired by Motorola), Azingo (acquired by Motorola), and Samsung.
