• I lead the Runtime and Operations group at Miro. RunOps is an platform engineering unit focused on the foundational platforms and architectural layers of Miro as a product. The group is built on four domains each made up of numerous engineering teams: Core Runtimes (Frontend and Backend across all device platforms), Release and Experimentation Platforms, Quality and Reliability Enablement Platforms, and Core Internal Product Services (like Messaging and Internal Dev Platform). Each pillar is designed to optimize our development processes and core building blocks, ensuring seamless, high-quality delivery of components and features at scale. My mission is to spearhead initiatives that enhance productivity, maintain stability, and foster innovation across Miro's product lines.

• As the Head of Engineering for Miro's Client/Frontend Platform, I led the formation and growth of the Client Platform sub-stream a platform engineering stream of multiple teams serving a community of hundreds of active contributors. Through leadership and collaboration, I drove initiatives to advance our engineering stream, focusing on culture, accountability, and performance improvements. Key achievements include significant boosts in board performance, faster development builds, and improvement amongst several key developer experience dimensions.

• As a Senior Engineering Manager at Klarna, I managed multiple teams for the App platforms group. I led the team responsible for the Klarna app's mobile and web architectural foundation. This team provided technical leadership and platform support for over 550 contributors and 80 feature teams. In addition, I oversaw the team responsible for the app's analytics instrumentation and pipeline. Here I renegotiated contracts and helped to rebuild the pipeline for improved compliance. Furthermore, I helped the group pioneer alternative programming models for external app development, and oversaw the cross organizational work stream that improved app performance by 433% on Android and 466% on iOS. I also played a key role in driving the reimagining of the group’s vision, goals, principles and structure, laying a solid foundation for future growth and success.

• As the founder and CEO of Nomad, I ran the consultancy that delivered digital projects using world-class remote and on-site resources. One of our most notable achievements was building a generalized Fraud Detection Framework/Fabric for a multinational bank. This framework was designed to proactively identify and eliminate fraud for a wide range of banking events. Our primary goal was to produce a cost-effective solution that could run various configurations of ML frameworks (ML.Net, Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow) and classic self-adapting rulesets in a serverless AWS environment. We leveraged big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kinesis, and Kafka.

• As a Software Development Manager at AWS, I led the engineering team for the Support Center in the AWS console. We re-engineered the platform using a custom UX framework, which allowed for rapid feature development and UX experimentation. We also incorporated machine learning-backed suggestions into the console. I was responsible for driving the long-term architectural vision for the product and leading the team.

• As VP of Engineering for Digital, I led the engineering teams for the digital transformation group at Barclays Africa Corporate and Investment Banking where I built innovative finance-related digital products and experiences. Some highlights include adopting the cloud, launching the first mobile app for CIB, launching an Enterprise Development Lending platform, developing a generic micro front end channels fabric and design system, launching various commercial APIs and industry initiatives, driving an engineering culture that embraces agile, lean, and design-thinking principles, and supporting the sell-down of Barclays Africa to Absa and the re-imagination of Transaction Banking and Markets channels across the African estate.

• As a Technical Architect/Technology Lead for the consulting company, I helped Barclays Africa CIB establish a new digital development competency in Cape Town focused on rapidly innovating and creating new finance-related digital products. I also re-designed key strategic systems and tools for Sanlam Personal Finance, targeting clients and brokers. I took over the outsourced development and maintenance of key systems for a HealthTech startup called Hello Doctor, and re-designed the core Compliance and Risk Management application for Masthead Financial Services. I also helped with the architectural re-design of the mobile site for DirectAxis. And made improvements to the call center quality management systems at Vodacom.

• As the technical co-founder, I led product engineering for GetBucks, a digital-first company specializing in short-term credit solutions. Utilizing the cloud, machine learning, and modern technologies, we minimized costs and provided a superior digital client experience. GetBucks operated globally and was later listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange as MyBucks.
