About

An aviation expert with a conscience, with a true understanding of the nuts and bolts of what aviation could be, then when he stared in his career, and equally if not more importantly now, as the rules of engagement have since evolved in this ever-changing dynamic industry. A true professional, who works as a team, inclusively with his network of professionals and his colleagues; he has never had a harsh word for anyone, preferring a style of management that assured his colleagues he was always there to back them; is what was said about Inderjit Singh, the ICAO Project Coordinator by H. E. Sir Aneerudh Jugnauth GCSK, PV, KCMG, PC, QC, the then Prime Minister/Minister of External Communications and in-charge of Civil Aviation at the commissioning ceremony of the SSR International Airport, Republic of Mauritius. Working with several agencies at a thriving operational airport – the mainstay and the hub of the economic activities and development of the island nation, simultaneously undergoing major rehabilitation and infrastructure expansion program was a challenging task. Inderjit as the ICAO Project Co-ordinator along with his multinational/multi-disciplinary team of eleven ICAO Experts encompassing different fields of critical aviation disciplines delivered the project within the scheduled three years with no cost or time overrun. Airports Authority of India (AAI) is where he got his grounding, where he got chiselled with the craft of how to handle the most difficult and critical situations in the operations of medium & large airports. Keep your cool, understand the situation, and find solutions that work for everybody has all along been the mantra for Inderjit. He projected this art, in all humility and spirit of professionalism in his appointment as the CEO of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), New Delhi – categorised as “Hypersensitive” from threat assessment; never compromising with his primary duty to his profession, his organization and to himself. He has kept himself abreast of development of the industry, if not ahead, of his times by extensive research and writing. He regularly contributes research papers and articles in several leading aviation journals. In the February 2024 edition of a leading aerospace journal, he has emphasised on the need to realign aviation activities in keeping pace with the changing ground realities. He shared the same sentiments as the Chairman and the Keynote Speaker at the global Airport Summit held at Singapore in February 2024, during the Singapore Air Show.
