About

I didn't plan to become a banker. I spent 3.5 years running an art business — sourcing, creating, selling, managing cash flows tighter than most textbooks describe. I painted portraits, shipped across states, and figured out what it meant to keep a small business alive. Then I went to IIM Trichy. Then IDBI Bank put me on credit. Turns out, reading a business model to decide if it deserves ₹5 Cr is not very different from understanding one to sell it art. Today I work as an Assistant Manager at IDBI Bank's Credit Solutions Center, where I underwrite MSME and Agri credit proposals — evaluating working capital cycles, stress-testing cash flows, and structuring risk within defined credit frameworks. In my first year: → Sanctioned ₹50 Cr+ across 60+ proposals → Ranked #1 among 13 Assistant Managers in zonal performance → Permanently transferred to the centralised credit vertical based on deputation performance → Received 3 salary increments within 12 months I hold JAIIB and CAIIB certifications, and I approach every proposal with what I call disciplined curiosity — understand the business first, stress the numbers second, and decide third. Outside credit desks and balance sheets, I think a lot about: → How retail investors read companies vs. how underwriters actually do → What MSMEs get wrong about their own financials → What an art business and a manufacturing unit have in common If any of that interests you — let's connect. 📩 neyajoshna99@gmail.com

  • I evaluate credit proposals the way a detective works a case — starting with the business model, not the financials.
  • At IDBI Bank's Credit Solutions Center, I underwrite MSME and Agri proposals with exposures up to ₹10 lakh, handling the full cycle from financial statement analysis to final credit structuring.
  • In total, I've built a framework for reading working capital stress before it shows up in the numbers.

  • Before banking, I built a business with my hands.
  • Artspree was my oil, acrylic, watercolor, and portrait studio — where I managed pricing, client acquisition, inventory, and fulfilment, all while studying engineering and then an MBA.
  • Running it taught me more about cash flow management, customer psychology, and margin pressure than any case study did. I didn't know it at the time, but I was training myself to become a better credit analyst.
