  • Key launches and results have included:
  • (a) New asset categories for goals with unique time horizons e.g. tax-saving equity funds, short-term debt funds, debt funds for emergency money. Led to 50X increase in Assets Under Management (AUM) from Rs. 20 Cr ($3M) at joining to ~Rs. 1,000 Cr ($150M) today, culminating in my promotion and venture funding for the company
  • (b) New payment methods for customer convenience e.g. Net Banking, physical mandate migration from ECS to NACH system, electronic bank mandates, Unified Payment Interface (UPI), debit cards. Led API discussions with RBL Bank to enable UPI
  • (c) Instant electronic bank account ownership verification leading to instant account activation, as well as paperless customer onboarding
  • (d) Both subtle and intrusive behavioural nudges that promote long-term investing best practices among individual investors e.g. simple asset allocation algorithm, periodic nudges to increase savings every year and nudges at withdrawal to discourage poorly-timed transactions. Led to AUM increases, lower withdrawals and reduced customer contacts
  • (e) Financial engines to enable portfolio reporting (e.g. XIRR and CAGR), fund recommendation changes (e.g. automation), smart withdrawal (e.g. FIFO), capital gains reporting (for tax filing), brokerage calculations (for business metrics and audits)
  • (f) v2 architecture to support 10X scale from this point onwards
  • Also lead operations team (10 people) and manage relationships with mutual fund companies
  • Managing customer escalations on a daily basis to ensure a superior experience and a sense of trust
