• Directed team of four developers in “C” and Visual Basic. Led primary development project to design and implement system running in parallel to existing production system, to provide data in different format used for TransUnion’s database cutover. Drove team to architect system able to use different set of rules for cutover data, without affecting current production flow.
• Directed team to design solution to create data files for both legacy production system and the new relational database.
• Implemented solution 12 months prior to cutover, and completed the migration of the 8,000 submission formats 6 months before the cutover in order to provide data to run in parallel for data comparison.

• I was involved in project management for small to medium size projects. The projects ranged from compliance, revenue generating and quarterly maintenance releases. I managed up to three projects in various phases simultaneously. The primary application for the projects I managed was the core batch maintenance for the TransUnion credit database. One major function of the team is to create java programs called drivers that would correct or update the TransUnion credit database in a timely manner without impacting the daily maintenance. A second function of the team supporting and enhancing the web applications attached to the TransUnion credit database. These applications were DataViewer and the Generic Driver. DataViewer allowed internal users to view live and audited data for research and Generic Driver created small java programs for common database updates that ran without programmer intervention. My team was expanded with three off shore resources starting in 2008. I interviewed, hired and coordinated the training of these associates.
• Completed and deployed six projects in 2009, including three maintenance releases and three compliance related projects.
• Added additional columns to third largest table in system. Led iterative deployment testing—identifying several issues addressed in subsequent tests, and completed final deployment within narrow time window.
• Added four-digit SSN index, to allow subject selection matching, when full SSN was not available for public records.
• Managed maintenance releases containing up to 30 defects/service requests coded, and unit testing by team of 10 developers.
• Interviewed, hired, and coordinated training for three-member offshore team, coding Java database correction drivers.
• Reduced number of custom drivers by 30%, due to enhancements made for generic driver application.

• Served as key member of team developing Visual Basic 6.0 application to support data acquisition project, tracking jobs from initiation to completion, provided several reports, and allowed users to manage transfer of data for updates to database. Acted as lead designer and VB (Visual Basic) developer.
• Led project and replaced over 8,000 stand-alone assembler programs with VB application with C-based batch maintenance component running on AIX, using Sybase as database.

Created design for address standardization module—replacing over 8,000 stand-alone assembler programs with VB application with C-based batch maintenance programs running on AIX, using Sybase as database. Reverse- engineered functional components from the legacy assembler system. Coordinated team of five associates to code function routines in C. Designed address standardization routine subsequently used as model for company. Coded part of main batch update program.

• Modified and created assembler programs for file, build, and maintenance system. Worked on JCL, FileAid, JobTrac, PROCs, and Dialog Manager. Contributed to Company-Wide File Split project, which re-organized database into set of expanded files for easier retrieval. Modified matching logic to identify and update records after adding logic to use secondary pass, without adversely affecting processing time and increasing subject selection match rate.

• I started by completing an intense 16 week assembler training program. Upon completion of the program I earned the "FFF" ( Five Finished Flawlessly) award for completing all five case studies without an error. Only 4 associates earned the award out of over 200 hundred in the program. My responsibilities were to write and modify assembler programs for the Sears Storage system. I also coded in APS which was a COBOL generator. I received training in JCL, dialog manager and APS.

Aug 1981 – May 1989 · 7 yrs 9 mos

• My first responsibilities were managing the IIT Student Union recreation room. This included an 8 lane bowling alley, pool tables and video games. I formed and ran bowling leagues, coordinated tournaments and managed the facility with a student staff of 12. I also taught bowling for the physical education department as a credit PE class. In 1984 I was promoted to the role of Operations Manager of the Student Union. In addition to the recreation center, I managed the day to day operation with a student staff of 60. I was responsible for room setups, coordinated audio visual equipment and food service. The building was able to hold up to 500 guests for a banquet and 1000 guests for events in the auditorium. I coordinated all the details for events including the IIT and Kent Law school graduations, City of Chicago department conferences and numerous student activities.
