About

Hey there 👋🏻 I’m Vivek Dwivedi, Co-founder and CEO, SciAstra. I started this journey with a mission to transform the way students think about science careers. At SciAstra, we guide the next generation of scientists and researchers, encouraging them to think critically and creatively, not just memorise concepts for exams. I believe that science and research hold the key to shaping the future. My vision is to make scientists as celebrated and influential as celebrities, fostering a world where students are empowered to explore careers in basic sciences and research — fields that are often overlooked but crucial to innovation. 🚀 Our Journey at SciAstra - SciAstra is India’s first and the largest research community. We are a team of mentors from prestigious institutes across the globe including Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, IISc, IISERs, IITs, and more. What started as a YouTube channel named ‘Vivek NISER’, in a hostel room, eventually transformed into SciAstra after a casual conversation with Akhil Tripathi, Co-founder and COO. Since 2021, SciAstra is offering mentorship and resources to students aspiring for careers in science. SciAstra has been honored with several prestigious recognitions: - Best Student Startup in Odisha (GSEA) by Entrepreneur Organisation (EO) - Winner of Chunauti 4.0 by STPI Govt. of India - Recognised by Startup India & Startup Odisha My Personal Journey: Growing up in a lower-middle-class family, I witnessed the challenges of limited opportunities and resources. Despite this, I earned a full scholarship to NISER by Department of Atomic Energy, where I deepened my passion for research and science. With SciAstra, I’m committed to breaking the stereotype that science is limited to becoming an engineer or doctor. If you're passionate about science I’m always open to connecting with like-minded individuals or students looking for mentorship. • Astronomy Club is the most famous club at NISER, we conduct events almost every weekend. I have personally volunteered for these events, and being from chemistry., I gave a talk on Astrochemistry.

Robotics Club NISER

Aug 2018Sep 2021 · 3 yrs 1 mo

  • It was difficult to establish a Robotics Club at a basic sciences institute of government because of funding as well as long process demanding enough need for why to do it. But we finally succeeded in building the club. We are working on various projects which I can not share here, as well as helping our juniors learn new skills. Also, the work culture we created in this club is amazing because people take responsibilities themselves, and lead each other.
