About

I finished my real estate fellowship in 2024, and I now want to pay that forwards. I am at a point in my real estate journey to be able to coach physicians in those areas of real estate investments that they may be interested in. 3 years ago, I thought I would happily retire as an Emergency Medicine Physician & administrator in health care, 2 jobs that I absolutely love & cherish, but then I began my real estate fellowship, not realizing just how much it was going to alter my trajectory. In medicine, our mantra is see one, do one, teach one. So with that same mentality - I am ready to teach, having seen & done many! In the 3 years that I have been growing my real estate muscles, I have added 2 short term rentals to my portfolio, conducted several 1031 exchanges for valuable tax benefits, joined 19 different passive syndications as a limited partner, & am now a general partner overseeing 575 doors, a land syndication deal in AZ, as well as multiple other deals in the pipeline. I have helped physicians invest over 2.5 million dollars into a variety of passive syndication opportunities in less than a year. My goal is to bring deals that I have done due diligence on & believe in to colleagues & friends, & invest alongside with them & grow together. I am happy to discuss anything real estate related & see how I may best help you to grow as I have. Everyone may be looking for different things. There are a variety of things that motivate & drive us - many of us want time freedom, some of us want income from side gigs, some of us want passive streams of income, but what we all share is that we want to live life on our own terms, maintain our health, spend more time with our families, & reap the benefits of a long & arduous education through intelligent financial planning & investing strategies. I want to show you the art of what is possible. Speaking very personally, via the groundwork I've laid over the last several years, I will no longer have to work in medicine by age 52, but rather will choose to do so in a way that complements my lifestyle & no longer has to afford my lifestyle. If this sounds tempting to you, let's chat. Oh yeah, my day job! Highly experienced emergency medicine physician with over 20 years in active clinical practice & over 8 years of experience as Department Chair. Served as President of Medical Staff. Certified Epic Physician Builder & Medical Director of Quality & Informatics. Significant teaching & leadership experience. Experienced expert witness with over forty cases reviewed & experienced with testifying at deposition/trial.

President of Medical Staff

Jul 2021Jun 2023 · 1 yr 11 mos

  • During my tenure as President of the Medical Staff, I had a unique opportunity to help my fellow physicians, APPs, and other medical staff members have their interests and concerns voiced to the hospital executive team and hospital board. My mission is to improve the quality of life of the medical staff through workflow efficiencies, improving the quality and safety of the care we provide, and thereby improving the care we provide to our community.

Medical Director of Informatics

Mar 2021Present · 5 yrs 3 mos

  • As the Medical Director of Informatics, I am able to help bring cutting edge technology to our medical staff. I am able to help shape the use of our electronic medical record in a way that it works for the medical staff and not the other way around. I have been able to lead projects in our EMR at a system level. One recent example is allowing the care of patients with mild DKA to be allowed on general medical floors instead of the ICU allowing for improved throughput of these patients through the hospital, decreasing both ED and ICU length of stay, decreasing total nursing cost of care, and creating a better experience for the patient.
  • I have also led hospital deployment of a new secure texting application and participate in ongoing system development of best practices regarding the use of this tool.

Emergency Medicine Physician

  • This defines me. The ability to be able to quickly and calmly handle anything that walks or rolls through our doors in the Emergency Department is why I do what I do. I have loved all of my time in the Emergency Department. The teamwork that makes up the family environment at the UM BWMC ER is why I have stayed here for 18 years. It is home away from home, and I absolutely love being able to take care of our wonderful community in AA County. We are one of the three busiest EDs in the state of Maryland. The acuity is extremely high and allows me to practice at the very top of my license.
  • A highlight of mine was being awarded the BWMC Physician of the Year award in 2012 which was voted on by my colleagues and coworkers.
