João Antunes — Product Engineer
I am currently a second-year master's student after completing my bachelor's degree. My field of study is Electrical and Computer Engineering at Nova SST. This degree has projected my taste in the areas of Digital and Electronics, resulting in the production of some personal projects using Arduino and RaspberryPi. My thesis in development centers on the RTL design and implementation of a low-power Digital Front-End (DFE) for the NOVA TREX1 transceiver in 65nm CMOS technology. The scope involves developing a complete Low-IF digital baseband chain - specifically the Digital Down Converter (DDC), fast-settling synchronization engines, and a GMSK demodulator - optimized to achieve robust connectivity for bursty IoT traffic within a strict 2 mW power budget. I currently work as a ASIC Digital Design Intern for Synopsys. I seek to specialize (after graduation) in the areas mentioned but I am open to new challenges or opportunities that may arise.
