About

I am a recent graduate from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Engineering in Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering. I'm a driven self-starter eager to develop my skills as a digital electronics engineer through FPGA and ASIC design, embedded system design, and firmware development positions. I have a proven record of excellence as a team player and collaborator, with a commitment to organization and responsibility demonstrated by my volunteer work as a camp director and counsellor for a combined 8 years at Camp Ruskoka, and my time at Gastops as an Electrical Engineering Student.

  • As a member of the Memory Interface PHY IP validation team at Synopsys, I get to work with bleeding edge memory systems implemented on the latest silicon technology process nodes. I play a role in initial silicon bring up of memory PHY IP test chips, design and execution of test plans, create complex test automations, and perform low level debug of digital IP blocks.

  • Held a key role in the test program of a prototype oil debris monitoring sensor which included sensor assembly, testing, and data processing of test results.
  • Designed test plans and performed environmental tests to ensure field trial readiness of the prototype sensor in collaboration with management and senior staff. Environmental tests included thermal, vibration, pressure containment, and field operation simulation. The test program lead to a successful transition of the sensor to field trial readiness TRL.
  • Acquired hands on experience with Zurich Instruments MFLI Lock-In Amplifier and the Zurich Instruments API through creation of test monitoring scripts using Python and MATLAB which allowed for hands off monitoring of the sensor’s performance during extended period thermal cycling tests.
  • Wrote test specific Jupyter notebooks that accelerated data processing and verification of test results which resulted in fast progression through the sensor test program. Data processing skills involved FFT analysis, signal abnormality detection, and peak amplitude detection using the SciPy library as well as visualization of the data using Matplotlib.
  • Created and optimized the prototype sensor’s assembly procedure, with precise documentation and recommendations to enable ease of production level manufacturing. Assembly procedure of the sensor consisted of soldering required connections and verifying the functionality of the sensor using an oscilloscope and lock-in amplifier.
  • Presented findings of the prototype sensor test program through weekly research team meetings and formal test reports.
  • In addition to my work on the prototype sensor, I was tasked with designing a trade show demonstration unit to showcase the performance of Gastops’ MetalSCAN series of sensors. The trade show demo unit was designed in Fusion 360 with accompanying machine shop ready engineering drawings, and multiple units were assembled and are now in use within Canada and the United States.
