I worked as a research intern in RGIPT under DR V.S Sistla on the topic "Separation of Xylene isomers using MOF(Metal-Organic-Frameworks) membranes and crystallization".
Para-Xylene isomer is one of the most important raw materials for other products like paraterephthaltic acids, Nylon fibres and PET polymers. We worked on finding a new mode of enriching the para-xylene concentration in a mixture of C8 aromatics, which would be economically feasible and more efficient compared with other current separation processes we follow in the industry.
