• I never dreamt of this job. In fact, it was less “career goal” and more “summer program with a paycheck.” I was in college, COVID was still lurking around, and I had absolutely zero idea what I wanted to do with life.

• One of my burning questions was: How do these customer care executives operate?
• Why do they all sound like they’re reading from the same script? What secret sorcery goes on behind the calls? And most importantly—do they actually know how things work inside their own company?
• So, when I stumbled upon a job posting for Tech Mahindra hiring customer care executives for Flipkart, I thought, Why not? This could be fun… or at least mildly enlightening.
• Reasons I signed up for the circus:
• 1. Earn some pocket money without selling a kidney.
• 2. Remote job = do college and work without leaving my pajamas.
• 3. Finally satisfy my inner detective about the mysterious world of customer support.
• I lasted four months—because let’s be honest, it was never my forever plan.
• But in that short time, I hopped across different departments, learned more than I expected, and unlocked the behind-the-scenes truth: customer service is basically part tech, part patience, and part acting skills worthy of an Oscar.
