1.) Implemented a Sanskrit OCR using a Tensorflow-based Attention LSTM model.
2.) Programmed an API to extract Sanskrit line images and their respective annotations from the documents. For synthetic data, I shortlisted 67 fonts which can render the conjunct characters accurately using pango and cairo libraries.
3.) Performed the qualitative analysis of the results and compared the results with the other baselines. My OCR achieved a word error rate of 15.97% and a character error rate of 3.71% on challenging Indic document texts and outperforms strong baselines.
