Before I moved to Product Management, I was a full-time UX Designer. I have seen a culture where Everything was done by Engineers and Designers. The job usually is to build a product, the right way. Building the right product often gets secondary. With Product Management, the focus shifts from just building a product the right way to also building the right product. My goal as a PM is to add value by making sure the product being built is feasible, adds value and usable. Most importantly, “make something people want,” as Paul Graham from Y Combinator put it.
