  • Developed a tier-1 unified, cluster-agnostic reverse proxy for a global high throughput serverless computation platform handling nearly 838+ million transactions per sec under 1.97 ms latency across multiple fleets of 100,000+ hosts and relied on by 98% Amazon Consumer businesses across all of Amazon's regions globally regions
  • Designed caching solutions for the reverse proxy which improved connectivity between reverse proxy and compute platform by reducing lookup time by 92%
  • Developed routing algorithms to adopt a cell-based architecture to counter scaling problems and reduce blast radius thereby minimizing customer impact
  • Successfully migrated to heterogeneous environments with CPU staying uniform across all host types. Also migrated from Hardware to Software load balancers which reduced banding from 12% to 0.76% and facilitated scaling
  • Successfully executed compliance project expanding the reverse proxy to deliver India business traffic to IN AWS regions which reduced latency by 70%
  • Designed and built load-testing infra for handling highly scalable distributed systems executing business logic across Amazon ≈ 687 millions/sec in real-time
  • Successfully expanded Amazon business and its modules to China
  • Designed and built load-testing infra for handling highly scalable distributed systems executing business logic across Amazon ≈ 687 millions/sec in real-time
  • Developed a service that enables Amazon engineers determine cost of their software design stack on the fly, enabling them to make optimal design decisions
  • As an intern, created an end-to-end visualization framework to facilitate leadership dive deep into usage reports of multiple platforms across Amazon

Bhaskaracharya institute for space applications and geo-informatics

Summer Internship

May 2018Jul 2018 · 2 mos · Gandhinagar, Gujarat

  • This project was done in under the supervision of senior project managers at Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics in collaboration with Gujarat Power Research and Development Cell.
  • With no such pre-existing model to simulate and analyze real-time electrical networks, the need for a geo electrical network simulation tool is enormous. Simulation saves us from the effort of setting up electrical poles and/or transformers in real geographical locations which can be very tiresome and expensive. Our main aim in this project has been to provide an user-friendly interface for such simulation. This can be helpful in optimizing the network flow which in turn can be crucial in setting up real-time poles in useful areas such that the network flow stays optimized and electric flow is not hindered. The delivered prototype works well.
  • On completion of the project we completed the Innovation challenge and hence were provided with a scholarship.
  • Responsibilities and Tasks completed:
  • 1. Conducted survey and collected data pertaining to each node (electric pole) in an electrical
  • network for a given city.
  • 2. Created an user friendly Geo-Electrical network Simulation tool (in a team of three) to analyze and
  • visualize real time changes made into the electrical survey data and look for possible ways to
  • optimize the network
  • 3. The code was written in JavaScript and Python. PgAdmin, Postgres, PostGIS were some out of
  • the many tools used in completing the task.
  • 4. We did this project in collaboration with Gujarat Power Research and Development Cell, a
  • department under the supervision of the government of Gujarat
  • Achievements:
  • Was awarded the BISAG Innovation Challenge scholarship upon completing the task.
  • Was awarded a strong Letter of Recommendation from Dr. Manoj Pandya, a senior project
  • scientist and an excellent project manager at BISAG.
