The objective was to was build an application which would help in identifying and extracting necessary details about vehicles from video captured by traffic and security cameras. It first extracts frames from a video then uses a series of image manipulation techniques to detect, normalize and enhance image of the number plate, and then applies optical character recognition to get alphanumerics of the license plate.
