I joined Standard Chartered in 2015 as Group Chief Executive. As an undergraduate I completed a degree in International Relations at Colgate University, as I originally intended to become a diplomat, but changed tack and joined JP Morgan as a trainee in 1983. Over the next 26 years I had some successes and learned from some mistakes, completed an MBA at Wharton School of UPenn, and developed my career and network in both New York and London, eventually becoming the co-Chief Executive Officer of JPM’s investment bank. I am currently an Independent Director on the Board of Stripe, an Overseer of the International Rescue Committee and the Chairman of The Print Room, a not-for-profit theatre in London. I am also a father, a husband and an avid theatre-goer. I love to read, and play a bit of squash.
