In my current role, I manage a complex portfolio of scalable and secure systems in IBM's customer support and notification domain. About 18 years ago, it seemed impossible for a college dropout with choppy English to land a software engineering job. It took about two years of self-taught programming, getting a few certifications, building websites, and preparing my resume. After brutal and countless failed interviews, I got a junior PHP developer job!  In hindsight, the odds were stacked against me, and my career advancement seemed impossible, let alone getting my first job. But whenever I face challenging situations, I recite, "Nothing is impossible!" Leadership I've mastered the different calibers required for various roles, encompassing technical and soft skills. Over the years, I feel blessed to have worked with such a large group of amazing mentors and peers who have influenced me profoundly. Thanks to them, trust and empathy became the core of my leadership approach. I create a safe environment to empower each team member to unleash their full potential. One of my proudest career achievements is my team members' over 7-year average tenure. With a keen eye for emerging trends and a commitment to lifelong learning, I strive to keep my teams ahead of the curve, delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive tangible business value. Committed to learn Being in the software engineering field is a lifelong journey of learning. I'm always working on pet projects to learn something new. My recent interest is AI, which will spread even closer into our lives. When I learn something cool, I apply them at work to solve real problems. To name a few, my team and I built an automation system to eliminate error-prone manual administrative tasks, a scalable notification system responsible for delivering millions of messages to customers, and a support case summarizing AI service that streamlined the shift hand-off process.
