The internship period of two months (1st May,2023- 30th June,2023) involved closely working in the department of maternal health , learning about different health programmes being implemented.
It also involved on-field visits to various Primary Health Centres , Community Health Centres , Nutrition Rehabilation centres and more.
It provides an opportunity to interact with various health workers and beneficiaries and observe various health implementation based sessions (MAMTA session ) and practices being carried out.(Immunisation , counselling of pregnant women , breastfeeding mothers and about general childcare and nutrition).
During this Internship period , also carried out a attempted study to understand IFA and Ca consumption - it involved collecting and analysing responses and results obtained respectively using a KAP based questionnaire (self made under guidance of mentor), via interacting with beneficiaries(pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers).
All in all, the internship proved to be a learning experience to understand implementation of health programmes and working within a government setup responsible for regulating health on a large scale.
