  • My Team at Bajaj Finserv Health was the first private integrator for clinic softwares with the ABDM ecosystem. This had its own share of challenges in terms of understanding the why-what-how of implementation. My experience led me to start contributing to NHA as a technology volunteer where I helped improve the documentation of the sandbox website and guided more than 20 Inew integrators on how to complete their M1-M2-M3 journeys for successful integration.
  • Besides, I have also been involved in active design discussions of the technology stack, providing feedback of what works on ground and simplifying a few user journeys in terms of them getting onboarded in the ABDM ecosystem. Few of the significant contributions are mentioned below:
  • 1. Onboarding journey of doctor/clinic admin signing up on a HMIS platform with their HPR and HFR ID in a single workflow
  • 2. Registration of a patient using ABHA workflows by providers (scan n share and search by mobile no)

  • I was responsible for increasing the success rate of UPI transactions for insurance sales from 35% to 75% by implementing a UPI intent journey on mweb, for both self DIY and agent aided journeys. Our team was the first to implement this UPI autopay journey on Mweb with Razorpay.
  • Besides, I also helped build a cashless utilization journey on Scan N Pay for customers to utilize their health benefits in person at the clinic/ hospitals. I have also helped build the entire ABHA creation, link records and fetching records journey on the consumer app to help drive customer acquisition via the healthstack integration. On the provider side, I am driving a pilot to onboard doctors in their digital health journey - having onboarded 100 doctors to create their HPR/ HFR in 1 week and link 150+ records being the first private integrator to do so.

  • I was responsible for building the practice management and EMR solution for doctors from scratch including streamlining their onboarding journeys both via salesforce and DIY journey on app/web.
  • We moved from onboarding 50 docs a day to 800 docs a month via the self onboarding journey and number of EMR users from 50 docs a day to around 2500 docs a day. The prescription fill rate moved from 10% to 45% during my time period due to integration with AI tools and reduce the time taken to prescription to less than 1 min. A few retention strategies were tried out which included creating a specific OPD plan for a doctor- patient interaction which didn't take off the way we expected it to, since doctors were initially reluctant as it was a new construct and then COVID happened.
  • Besides, I was also responsible for setting up agile sprint processes and work with QA team to streamline tech delivery. I was also responsible in making the HMIS solution ABDM compliant.

  • The ability to build platform technologies and solve problems for India at scale with a smart bunch of committed and dedicated volunteers is what drove me to be an Ispirt Volunteer. Here, I have contributed in building digital public goods across:
  • 1. Dispute Resolution: The trigger for this was UPI, was when my payments get stuck, I am usually clueless on what happens to my money, who acts on it and when. Therefore, our team helped define the dispute resolution product workflows agnostic to industry primarily focused on multi-party disputes. Today, the same has been implemented in Account Aggregator ecosystem with IndMoney where over 100+ disputes so far have been filed and threads maintained in a structured manner for either auto-adjudication or resolution by an ODR provider.

Health Stack: I along with my team worked on the conceptual model for teleconsultation using the basic building blocks of the national health stack and helped define workflows for interoperable teleconsultation across platforms. We are currently in the final stages of rolling out a closed pilot with 5 leading health-tech companies.

  • I joined the team when the team had 6 members with only 2 technical resources and scaled it to around 10 by the time I left. I was primarily playing the role of an architect setting up the data analytics, testing, product support functions during this period.
  • My journey at Intelehealth also involved streamlining the user journeys on the patient app, revamping the UI to make it conducive to material design, make the app compatible for offline scenarios where the data could be stored in cache and customizing the data model for OpenMRS specific to our implementation. I implemented the process for managing support tickets from field using Zendesk which helped setup systems for scale in terms of being able to complete around 500 teleconsults.
  • The project was scaled from 1 to 3 different project sites and more than 50 healthworkers were trained to use the application during this period.

  • SIIP (Social Innovation Immersion Programme) is a fellowship scheme under SPARSH (Social Innovation programme for Products: Affordable & Relevant to Societal Health) programme initiated by BIRAC (Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council) under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
  • This is aimed to foster biotechnological interventions in national priority areas such as AGEING & ELDERLY HEALTH and developing market-based solutions in terms of affordable product development with innovative solutions after identifying the specific needs and gaps in social sector that has potential to bring health care breakthroughs to vulnerable populations.
  • I did over 300 customer interviews to identify gaps, current solutions being used and find a problem worth solving. Weighing down on the risk reward matrix, I zeroed down on the problem statement from over 200 need statements of identifying effect of therapy on anxiety level of patients in a quantitative manner. Solutioning was done using the design thinking process and solutions were validated. I spoke to a few neurologists at CMC Vellore, NIMHANS and DMH, Pune and did a POC on the product with some engineering interns from PICT Pune.
  • The idea was shelved due to lack of investment available post-facto in mental health and a few personal priorities.

  • I worked with the founder as a Partner Entrepreneur to develop a model pilot program with the district administration in Raipur (CG), where we could build an end to end school admissions management system. This product allowed students from EWS backgrounds to file an online application for any school of their choice in their neighbourhood under RTE Sec 12.1.c. We could get 4000 applications filled with 2500 admissions allotted via lottery in a period of 4 months.
  • I was responsible for documenting the entire implementation which was published in RTE State of Nation Report published by IIM Ahmedabad. I then helped build the tech team in-house and sign MoU with state governments in Uttarakhand and Chattisgarh, which led to 40k applications and over 15k admissions in the subsequent year. I also contributed to fundraising applications which were successful due to the impact created.
  • Currently, the same platform and model is customized and replicated across 10 states in India and been in existence for over 5+ years.
