Recruitment Administrator

Nov 2020Mar 2021 · 4 mos · Liverpool, England, United Kingdom · Remote

  • I joined the team at a pivotal time for the Recruitment team as we expanded not only within the Coordination side of things with my hire, but also started focusing on direct sourcing.
  • My main achievements in this transitionary role was helping to address the wait time in applications being acknowledged and actioned, as well as improve the standard of feedback distributed to applicants. I also helped to implement an ATS during these first few months and settle those involved with interviews onto the new system.

Codeclan

Careers Service Assistant

Mar 2019Nov 2020 · 1 yr 8 mos · Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom

  • As part of the Careers Service team at CodeClan, I played an important role in helping to guide students and gradates towards successful placements within the Tech Industry of Scotland.
  • With targeted careers content throughout the course and regular opportunities to have 1-2-1's, I aimed to be a friendly face to help demystify the job market and act as a mediator between them and our partner network.
  • A specific aspect of my role which I enjoyed was utilising my knowledge from working with those with barriers into employment, and empowering others to ask for support where needed in interviews or the workplace.

Qa apprenticeships

Apprenticeship Careers Specialist

Oct 2017Mar 2019 · 1 yr 5 mos · Edinburgh, United Kingdom

  • After working for a number of years within retail and 3rd sector companies, I made transition into a role at QA Apprenticeships which allowed me to realign my work with a personal goal I set myself of making a difference to those around me.
  • My role at QA was in the Apprenticeship division; interviewing, supporting and helping to match 16-30 year-olds to suitable positions within IT and Business.
  • This was an eye-opening experience for me as I had always had a strong interest in technology but never felt I would be able to align my passions in a single role.
  • While in this position, I was very fortunate to be invited to participate in a group aimed at tackling the gender gap. This lead to me speaking about the topic publicly and discussing the actions QA were taking to combat the gender gap in the Tech Industry.
  • I was also the main connection between QA Edinburgh and a number of local non-profit organisations aimed at supporting those with barriers (whether physical or situational) into employment.
