• Paytm First Games (August 2024 - Present)*
• Drove large technical upgrades across 4 major and multiple minor microservices, serving 600+ tpm, 600k+ requests, and 15k+ transactions daily.
• Took ownership of and upgraded a legacy stack (110k+ Java LOC, 180k+ total LOC) from Java 8, Spring Boot 2.7 to Java 21, Spring Boot 3.2, resolving critical security vulnerabilities, improving performance, and introducing modern coding practices.
• Consolidated four Kafka consumers into a unified, scalable service handling multiple topics, leading to reduced infra cost, simplifying deployment, and improving throughput.
• Paytm Payments (June 2022 - July 2024):*
• Worked on core microservices for the payment gateway handling order creation, payments, refunds, and transaction status, serving 600+ tps, 80M+ requests, and 15M+ transactions daily.
• Coordinated across teams to deliver large initiatives including Postpaid Subscriptions and Issuer Tokenization, resulting in a 5% improvement in card success rates and saving INR 10M+ annually in network fees.
• Led major refactoring across services (200k+ LOC in our codebase) as part of the Payment Gateway 2.0 initiative; removed deprecated code and modernized outdated references.
• Took ownership of on-call support, using Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus to monitor and debug production issues.
• Performed zero-downtime deployments in a highly available AWS EKS environment.
• ◦ Built a BFF Layer service from scratch in reactive programming paradigm using Java, Spring Boot, Reactor, Netty, Spring Webflux, etc.
