• As the leader of Engineering, I oversee the technology, design, development, and operations of Kognic's global platform for annotation of sensor fusion data, delivering to demanding enterprises like Qualcomm, Bosch, and Volvo. Starting small, I have scaled the organisation to 50 people and established a system of value-focused empowered teams delivering innovative products that are viable for our business. The product combines 2D/3D frontend and machine learning with scalable orchestration built on cloud native foundations; it operates annotation production performed by thousands of full-time annotators worldwide.

Collaborating across functions with sales, marketing, and other stakeholders, I align our technological strategy with business goals and give my organisation the context to make decisions that lead to successful outcomes. Additionally, I serve as Kognic's Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

• Established the Professional Services organisation to maximise customer value and reliably and efficiently deliver high-quality data for training and validation of perception systems, primarily in automotive AD/ADAS. In this role, I managed all the company's project operations, including delivering to global enterprises in Germany and Korea.
• During nine months, I grew the team from 2 to 19 people in Gothenburg and Munich, hiring top-tier data experts, data scientists, developers, and project leaders to support our scaling operations.
• At this time, the company was named Annotell.

• As project leader and data expert combined, I made our clients succeed by challenging their assumptions, guiding them in using our product, and executing their annotation project. • Joining the startup Annotell (later Kognic) as the seventh employee to lead an exploration into MedTech, I extended the product to annotating radiology data and established partnerships with potential customers. I led a government-funded (Vinnova) project researching the effective creation of high-quality data in computed tomography, collaborating with Unilabs and the AIDA lab at Linköping University. Consistent, high-quality labels are vital for developing AI applications in radiology, and tool productivity is key to enabling doctors to create datasets with limited resources. I developed the tool internally and coordinated the collaboration within the three-company coalition. The lessons learned in radiology advanced our general capabilities while revealing challenges within the MedTech sector—insights that ultimately informed our strategic pivot to focus on automotive applications.

• Founded the non-profit GAIA, which promotes interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and data engineering in the Gothenburg region. The goal is to strengthen local AI competitiveness through a strong community and the exchange of ideas. We strategically pursue this goal by hosting the annual GAIA conference and multiple smaller events.
• Since its inception in 2018, the GAIA Conference has grown to a two-track event with renowned international speakers from global companies such as Google, Apple, and Nvidia, attracting over 1,100 attendees. Global companies and local startups find our event a perfect place to position themselves as attractive employers within AI. Making it a cornerstone event for networking and knowledge-sharing.
• Leading a volunteer organisation presents different challenges, and engagement is vital. Structure and thoughtful choices that make things easy the next time have enabled us to grow into one of the premier AI events in the Nordics.
• Beyond leading the organisation, I handle sales of partnerships and tickets through cultivating partnerships with companies, industry organisations, and the public sector.

• Machine learning spread to more traditional industries from internet giants and other high-profile applications. My role was to help companies understand and deploy machine learning, which can change their business model. My work ranges from education and project leadership to research and implementation. I focused on image understanding and reinforcement learning but worked in all fields of machine learning and data science. Regardless of the algorithms, data collection, annotation strategy and quality, and defining a well-behaved learning goal are essential to success. Staying on top of the latest research is important to me. I taught a 3-hour introductory course on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning.

• I worked as the software architect for Volvo Cars' research program for autonomous vehicles, Drive Me, and the next generation of the active safety system. In my role, I was responsible for designing the in-house developed software within two major multi-core multi-CPU ECUs, e.g. the Nvidia Drive PX 2, to achieve safety, security, efficiency, functional performance, and development velocity of the sensor fusion and decision-making algorithms. Combining the strictest safety requirements, including redundancy, with next-level performance expectations is one major challenge setting autonomous driving apart from traditional active safety systems. As part of the role, I taught a one-day introduction to safety-critical software development for the developers in our department. I was highly involved in the adoption of agile methodologies and continuous integration.

• The project—itself part of Volvo's largest platform project thus far, SPA—involved 70 people in the in-house software development and more working with the system and hardware as well as at the tier-1 supplier and their sub-suppliers. The product—the fourth generation of active safety from Volvo Cars—went into production for the first time in the XC90 released in 2015 and achieved a 100% score in the EuroNCAP Safety Assist category. During the project, I encouraged the adoption of agile methodologies.

• As the software architect at Active Safety, I was responsible for assuring high software quality, compliance with standards like AUTOSAR, MISRA C, and ISO 26262, software efficiency, and good software structure. The work included close contact with suppliers in defining the interface between Volvo Cars' software, the supplier's software, and the platform. I led the compilation of company-wide guidelines for development in Embedded MATLAB. My work on automation, continuous integration, and adopting agile methodologies resulted in my colleagues and myself receiving the Volvo Cars Quality Award. I worked on the fourth generation of the active safety system from Volvo Cars, introduced in the XC90 (CADS4). The assignment was through Cybercom.
