• MoneyTransfer is the vertical which powers the iconic verb #PaytmKaro.
• It is this group of people, verticals, consumer journeys, platforms which is responsible to bring 7 out of 10 new customers to Paytm. Chief contributor to keep majority of 80M+ monthly active user base engaged with Paytm.
• Privileged to have got an opportunity to lead the technology team of this vertical. Which includes mobile application development, end to end consumer journey at backend and multiple platforms.
• MoneyTransfer includes transactions of all sorts - P2P, scan n pay, collect request, link based payment, payment against regular services, auto pay etc.
• It is single window to use any of the paytm linked account - upi, wallet, savings account etc.
• It consists of Many Payment Platforms - UPI, Wallet, TransactionHistory, PhoneBook, Beneficiary etc.
• Put together it serves 500M+ requests a day, doing in access of 50M+ daily transaction. While still offering upwards of 99.5+ availability.
• It was an absolute joy to work deeply with 150+ folks sweating out to build and run heart of Paytm.

• Continued the journey to evolve UPI platform for retail and corporate consumers which turned out to be even more complex and deeply engaging work, this resulted into building many more systems like Workflow Manager, Retry-Queueing Ecosystem to optimize success rate, Smart Routing between UPI/IMPS/NEFT, Bank Health insight at near real time, USSD and Toll integration, Payment Combination for offering choices in intelligent manner and lead generation, Contact & Beneficiary Management, Instant refund and Money Transfer solution for corporate - salary disbursement, payout, cashback.
• Integration with Chat platform. New Age Passbook is about to come and what not. Roadmap keeps getting bigger and better with time.
• Presently we are India's largest UPI acquiring platform, top 3 by UPI app transaction volume, top 6 bank by UPI transaction volume and top UPI platform with lowest technical decline ~.02%.

• Built UPI platform from grounds up and still evolving it to comprehensive MoneyTransfer Experience
• UPI has been probably the most impactful work till date for me, it's the backbone of the MoneyTransfer experience at Paytm. Built from Scratch, took us nearly 6 months to build the initial version and get it certified with NPCI. This involved building a platform as Issuing Bank, Acquiring Bank, Issuing PSP, Issuing app, Integration with Paytm Payment Gateway all in one go.

• Stabilizing, scaling, automating India's largest Wallet, creating a team out of bunch of individuals
• This has been almost as challenging as UPI and learning of it has helped us to build UPI and scale well in the first attempt. Paytm wallet was already India's biggest wallet when I have taken over, but quite unstable, devoid of process, automation, imbalanced team with just a handful of them were aware how it works, flawed design, manual and cumbersome process to ensure reconciliation and operation but with enormous reach and used by millions of merchants and users and growing rapidly.
• It was such a wonderful journey diving deep into every aspect of managing system and improving them bit by bit, everything was explored in detail, created road-map, balanced between new development and improving existing system, focused on automation to increase speed and ensure consistency, creating process to make it audit-able and meet compliance, real time reconciliation has been introduced, multiple level of resilience, disaster recovery, change in data management - structure, query, volume everything was tuned (none of the transactional query takes more than a millisecond);
• No magical step just created an environment where the whole team participates, understands the importance of change and urgency, debate and share.
• As of now we process millions of transactions, api latency within a second for transactional apis, 99.9%+ uptime, integrated with leading merchants and offers the most seamless payment experience in India.
