About

G'day! I am a specialist technical recruiter with a key focus on Software Engineering, but I also have experience recruiting Product, CX, and Marketing roles. I'm a storyteller who loves a challenger brand & am a total scaleup ecosystem geek. I'm based in London, working with the beautiful folks at Cleo to scale our product engineering squads. Cleo is more than just a money app or an AI reading a bank balance. We're on a mission to help millions of people improve their financial health & relate to them in a way their banks never could. 🀎 Back home in Australia, I worked at affix for 5+ years, a boutique recruitment and advisory consultancy that specialised in scaling tech-led businesses from pre-revenue to post Series B. I'm passionate about inclusion + diversity, and I believe recruitment should (and can) be a positive, empowering experience for everyone. Slide into my DMs to chat πŸ’Œ kushla.e@meetcleo.com

99designs

Talent Partner | Engineering (onsite via affix)

Nov 2020 – Nov 2022 Β· 2 yrs Β· Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Β· Hybrid

  • As a part of affix's embedded solutions team, I spent 2 years partnering with 99designs by Vista through a real time of scale after their acquisition by Vistaprint. I worked onsite in their software engineering group, growing the team + hiring folks from the junior - senior engineering manager level, including hiring for 2 annual junior engineering program cohorts.
  • Their tech stack was across React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Golang, and AWS, & with a little bit of legacy Ruby & PHP kicking around.
  • DEIB was a big part of this project. I had a mandate to triple the size of their software engineering group whilst increasing the representation of women at all levels in technical roles. 40% of the software engineers we hired were women, including 4 at the senior leadership level - something I'm really proud of.
  • 99ers are the real deal. I loved being a part of their journey as an extension of their team. Some of the most inclusive, humble, fun, + big hearted people you'll ever meet. 🧑
