Learnings:
1. Do NOT outsource to part time freelancers. Full-time freelancers who's paycheck depends on you is okay, but part time freelancers in 90% of the case are NOT cut out for quality work & committment to deadlines.
2. Do NOT be a part time entrepreneur. Either you are in fulltime or out. This holds especially true if your startup is deep tech.
3. The time taken to present prototypes to your early users is very crucial. Do NOT keep them waiting more than necessary.
4. Validate. Validate. Validate, BEFORE actually building anything or investing time & money.
5. When you are a Startup, do NOT be the first in market to try something as expensive as Drone tech. Try to get the second/late mover advantage.

I co-founded RDA while I was working with Skyware. Though I did not serve as the CEO for the first 3 years then since my time was more inclined towards my other startup, I was still in charge of key decision making and also handled the following task on behalf of the company
1. Growing the firm from 3 members to 15 members centred on need basis. I wanted the team to be agile i.e be able to scale up or down based on project needs.
2. Attend prospect meetings, gather software project requirements, ask hard leading questions to get the requirements right, documenting them for handover to technical team etc.
3. I also write RFP, RFQ for prospects for inbound clients. Breaking them down to specifics was my niche.
4. Apart from wearing the above hats, I also served as lead product designer incharge of crafting user experiences for our clients' projects. It would start with precise round of discussions, then the captured ideas would be converted into wireframes focusing on usability, and eventually into interface design focused on making it look as slick as possible.
5. Weekly meetings with the developers & designers to keep tab on team progress.
