About

I believe you can achieve big things if you are passionate about what you do. My passion is challenging the boundaries that are all around us. I strive to reach the goals I set for myself and reaching them with grace. Living a life without limitations has given me a lot of great adventures like finishing second in the 100 km Danish running championships, representing the Danish national team at the 100 km World Cup, climbing Mt. Rainier and becoming an entrepreneur. I love building great products that change how we think. I see the process of establishing a start-up like running an ultra endurance race. You prepare, you go into it knowing, that you will have a lot of ups and downs during the race. If you stick through it, believe in yourself and most importantly gather the right team around you, the chance that you will reach the finish line is great. You can never predict the outcome though; there is always a chance that you will have an injury, a cut off time will catch you or something else will prevent you from going all the way. At the end of the day, as long as you are doing what you love, there is no such thing as failure, it is only an opportunity to begin again, and this time you will do it a bit smarter.

  • In late May we launched a legitimate marketplace, integrated with games like Counter-Strike, etc. to validate all trades. We are the first to build a fully compliant system for parental consent, enabling the majority of gamers to trade legally and giving the parents peace of mind.

Tradono

Founder - Jack of all trades - Senior Developer - Member of the board

Aug 2013May 2019 · 5 yrs 9 mos · Copenhagen Area, Denmark

  • In 2013 I joined forces with Mads, and Nicklas to disrupt the way we sell and buy second hand online. Tradono is a warm, safe and curated marketplace filtered by geography and infinity. Later we pivoted towards female fashion and interior.
  • Developement:
  • As senior developer I participated in development of our native IOS (Swift) and later native Android App (Java) primarily. However I also had a stint on Web (React) and back-end Java, MySQL, Elasticbeanstalk. Furthermore I got my hands dirty with various AWS tools, and thirdparty libraries from Facebook, Stripe and many more. Very challenging, and fun to work at all parts of the tech stack.
  • Jack of all trades:
  • In my role as Jack of all trades i did exactly that. I had the responsibility of our growth marketing efforts, paid marketing, building our customer experience department, starting up new countries and prepping lunch ;-).
  • To mention a few things that I am especially proud of it is our growth initiatives, when there was no money for paid advertising. We established a growth team, that grew the userbase through social media hacks, I put down the foundation for our offline flea markets, that in its own is a very successful and integral part of our business with more than 4000 attendees pr market. When we raised the means, I was very much hands on growing our userbase from 0-1.000.000 users, with a relative tight budget and seeing some very low customer acquisition costs. And there is so much more.

I do move

CEO & Founder

Oct 2007Aug 2013 · 5 yrs 10 mos · Copenhagen Metropolitan Area

  • Idomove originates from an idea I got back in 2007, while training for the 2008 Copenhagen Marathon. I lost my motivation along the way and promised myself a reward for completing the rest of my program and the race itself. I finished the marathon and thought that if rewards for exercising motivated me, then maybe it could get others off the couch.
  • The Idomove website was released in its first version January 2011. The company mantra was “We believe exercise should be fun”. It was obtained through an online game, where exercise and completed challenges were rewarded with points that could be used to win nice prizes. Idomove apps for Android or iPhone, the Idomove step counter and Garmin heart rate devices were enablers for raking in those points. 200 steps or 1 minute with your heart rate up equaled 1 point. Gamification was what held the platform together and the journey from “Couch potato” to “Honorary member” gave our users the motivation to keep moving.
  • In 2013 we reached several milestones; 70.000 users of our apps, 2.500 Idomove step counters sold, 1 billion steps taken by Idomovers and 35 companies paying for our services.
  • Here are some of the things I did as CEO that I am most proud of.
  • I used my technical background for building the site www.idomove.com.
  • Development of our iPhone app was outsourced to Poland and production of the step counter to China. I spent many hours with project management, talking to vendors and a lot of effort to get it right.
  • I was in charge of daily operations like bookkeeping, customer support, billing and community management.
  • I did a lot of canvas selling. I had never worked with sales before but achieved to gross the most money on the sales team.
  • I was the persona of Idomove. So I did our public appearance on Aftenshowet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1HtTft8UDE) and pitched in front of 200 people and on live radio at “Iværk og Vækst” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5Id0gn5lmc) and many other things.

  • I was working as a freelance writer at Denmark’s biggest youth magazine while studying. Besides all the free Cinema previews and popcorn ;-) I actually learned a lot. On every editorial meeting, you had to pitch your stories and if they decided to buy your story, it meant very tight deadlines. It was all about being creative, thinking outside the box and a lot of fun interviewing interesting people.
  • I had a proud moment when one of my big exposé pieces, was mentioned as being one of the most well timed stories in the history of the magazine. The story was about how sales people in media stores took copies of your holiday photos, when you decided to go with the 1-hour photo printing service. It was picked up by national Danish tabloids and run the following day.
