• Managed the web vertical development team of 8-10 members, involved in rolling out various consumer features and internal admin portals.
• With the establishment of a new technology office at Bangalore, helped the web team to grow from a size of 4 members to 10 in a quarter span of time, which includes setting up Android team from almost ground level.
• Developed IP Service as an individual contributor which is a Rest based web service built over Elastic Search in order to have a single responsible service to manage the entire IP based information, required in order to apply cash game rules and other location based controls over the entire game variants. The service is scaled to take 5X load with the current being 2.2K TPS. The service has reduced the DB load from 65-70% during peak hours to the current load of 25-30%. High load on DB had been a bottleneck for big tournaments and scalability of the application.
• Designed and architected a new microservice Payment Service (JusPay like product) and a ‘Add Cash’ pluggable widget which has been one of my major milestone during the tenure. The service has replaced the 9 years old legacy struts based web application which had its own set of limitations and dependencies. The new service uses dropwizard as the framework and the brilliant architecture makes it highly configurable with different payment gateways/wallets and pluggable for any new merchant/client. This configuration based system reduced the timeline from 2 months of development and roll-out to 2 days of configure and roll-out in case of integration with any new PG and wallets. Ideated and Implemented the optimisation of payment gateway commission charges in order to reduce the overall operational cost to a remarkable number. A real-time monitoring dashboard has been made available in order to track the server level as well as business metrics.

• Worked as an individual contributor as well as mentoring a team of 7-8 members, involved in developing a single backend API for the multiple platforms – web, mweb, android, iOS.
• Joined Hopscotch as 4th senior member in tech and took charge of making the complete transition happen from an outsourced tech to an in-house technology division. Hired the entire initial team, trained and mentored all the new team members.
• Set up the search module from scratch, with elasticsearch as the backbone. The search setup has helped the business to make a rapid transition from flash boutique to catalog based product discovery. Search by keyword, shop by category, shop by age, apply filters, sorting on different criteria, aggregations, recommendations, spell check and autosuggest are the different modules implemented over search. Had an excellent opportunity of scaling the elasticsearch instances and trying hands out with different elastic search as a service.
• Implemented personalised homepage for various customer segments - NB/RB/PB/GU, on the basis of category, brand, taste, price affinity and product sale velocity.
• Working with marketing and a very small technology pod, played a vital role in automating the manual marketing tasks of targeting the right customers, optimizing the marketing strategy and cost of acquisitions. This involved various API integrations for Facebook Custom Audience, Facebook Universal Pixels, Nanigans, Targeting Mantra, Mandrill - Transactional email for Mailchimp.

• Designed, developed and rolled out I-Serve(HK) from scratch, an application for on boarding the customers to establish a new relationship with the DBS Bank, Hong Kong by adding different products and services. Additionally, it is being used to open add on accounts and doing the customer maintenance. The end product for the application generates a PDF, detailing all entries from the customer on a defined set of template, to get the customer signature for a final confirmation. It is a role based application with different login users like Admin, Branch Makers, Branch Checkers, Operations and Ref, which strategically presents different screens on UI, depending on role. Admin role allows creating several other roles and other static data generation, again with the basic rule of maker and checker process.
• Designed a multilingual dynamic PDF generation system as an engineering proprietary at DBS bank, Singapore and won an Exemplar award for the same.
• Closely involved in hiring across the technology function of DBS bank and mentoring the new team members.
• Adopting a strict agile model, worked as a scrum master for a pod of 8-member team, gathering the business requirements from different geographically located product managers, getting them converted to technical stories and execution of sprint plans.
• Assisted the account manager in performing appraisal of the team by passing the right feedback about the performance of the individuals, working with the pod.

• Designed and developed PP-Directory (www.pickmyphotographer.com) as a one-handed developer which is the platform for photographers to showcase their work in different categories. We could successfully on-board 30k plus photographers whose profile could be previewed by end customers and a contact could be initiated, as per occasion requirements and budget. This baby product turned to be the flagship product of Canvera in later stage, contributing to a major percentage of revenue for the organisation.
• Worked as a senior developer of Vivyo, a subscription based web hosting application, intended for professional photographers providing integrated e-store and creating their personalised websites for showcasing their work, creating personalised photo books and selling their photographs. With Vivyo, one could create and publish a website in 1 minute using 1k plus available in-house designed themes.

• Created a hand-shake on the online platform among the three different types of role. i.e a collection manger which covers the fashion designers group, a sales team which covers the set of people involved in promotion of the products bought by collection manager and finally a marketplace which covers the retail sectors involved in displaying the products at their outlets to the end consumers.

• Developed a content management system, Atlantis (www.atlantis.onmobile.com) that is responsible for entire content and their metadata display, upload and download for different operators which includes some majors like Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance and BSNL. The frontend of CMS is a complete GWT application. Taking a bigger ownership of it, I developed multiple custom widgets and contributed back to open source. As a part of this project, I have been involved in developing independent tools and applications for enhanced and business supporting features.
• Designed and developed Music Burst, a web application hosted in Indonesia in order to download original song under different categories (encrypted and decrypted from server). Holding a major ownership, I was responsible for the complete web development including front-end and backend. The frontend part was complete GWT application using latest UI Binder and following MVP architecture.
• Worked as a developer in MSearch which was a unique initiative to allow users to search content of their choice on mobile and enable them to download it. The product was available over SMS, VOICE and WAP. The product was at the core of the famous GAANAA BOLO, HELLO TUNE PAAO initiative by AIRTEL and BOLO KYAA BAJAAYE by Vodafone. As part of the core MSearch team I was mainly responsible for handling the content search using the Lucene search API and enhancing the speech recognition accuracy in addition to other product related developments. Made strong contributions in automating metadata clean-up and ingestion pipelines for mobile content, reducing the time to market of key services.
