• Subject :- A Multi-modal Approach for Protein Function Prediction utilizing Protein Sequence and Structure
• I worked on a novel multi-modal approach, named as MultiPred, for predicting protein functions by utilizing the protein sequence and the protein secondary structure. For each modality, we developed different deep-learning models to extract the features. In this regard, we combine the protein interaction information with the extracted multi-modal features for accurately predicting the protein functions. As the protein function classes are dependent on each other, we have used a neuro-symbolic hierarchical classification model, which resembles the structure of Gene Ontology (GO), for effectively predicting the dependent protein functions. For GO and protein sequence dataset, we exploited GO knowledge base and UniPort website, respectively.
