An analyst at A&F Investments pitches investment ideas during biweekly meetings, in order to invest in real stock exchanges, to get experience in investing and learn about investment strategies and valuating companies.

• Asset | Econometrics is the study association for all students of the Bachelor Econometrics & Operations Research and students of the four subsequent Master programs at Tilburg University. It was founded in 1979 and is therefore one of the oldest associations connected to Tilburg School of Economics and Management. Asset | Econometrics has approximately 700 members of which about 120 are active in (several) committees. These active members try to stimulate the interaction between the students, scientists and companies through numerous activities. To reach this target many activities are organized, both formal and informal. Examples are symposia, drinks, sports activities, in-house days, study trips, etcetera.
• The association is managed by a full-time board consisting of five students. In my function as Chairman, my responsibilities include:
• Responsible for the strategy of the association
• Representative towards other associations, university, and other parties, except corporate
• Representative in General Board of Asset
• Responsible for the Acquisition portfolio within Asset
• Responsible for the contact with Asset
• Representative in the LOES (national organ econometric study associations)
• Contact person for the Advisory Council
• Preparing and chairing Department Members Meetings, Board Meetings, and Advisory Council sessions
• Responsible for the promotion of the LEST and the LED

• After succesfully defending my thesis on Deep Learning for Recommendation Systems I continued working for Building Blocks in a part time function.
• Building Blocks is a young company wich specializes in data driven consumer prodictions. By enriching data and applying smart algorithms Building Blocks ensures that both, companies and consumers, benefit from the opportunities that come with the exponential growth of data in current society. Providing companies with accurate consumer predictions, enables them to make the best consumer driven decisions every day.
• The vibe in this company is great, both on professional and personal fields. You are always encouraged to research and develop new tools or approached and not to stick with a 80% fit solution which may have just been developed a year ago. Moreover, I think the added-value mindset is very valuable. The aim is always to structurally improve a client’s decision making process. It is nice to be able to predict a certain outcome very well, but how are we going to transforms this into an actual (advice on) a decision, and moreover, how are we going to implement to solution to do this not just once, but structurally

• The Landelijke Econometristendag (LED) is the biggest carreer event for econometricians. Over the years it became the most known activity for econometricians and companies seeking econometricians. With over 600 participating econometric students and more than 45 companies it also became one of the biggest carreerdays in general. Also the popularity was shown in registration, in the past years the carreer day reached max capacity in several minutes. I was the chairman of the 2018 edition, making me responsible for the event in general and to supervise the committee.

Besides organizing activities for the honours students this committee was responsible for the closing symposium of USE academy.
