Outgoing email service, All the outgoing emails from Slack (digest, notification, billing..) are served by this service, I designed & wrote it in Java, and it had to support Enterprise Key Management (EKM) and IDR (International Data Residency) for PII data, prolonged delivery reattempts, email feedbacks. I completely owned it.
When you receive an Email in Slack (do you know each channel can have an email address?), the entire pipeline right from ingestion to sanitising, processing on BE and rendering on FE was written and implemented by me.
The bookmark bar that you see in every channel/DM in Slack, I led the backend and front-end. I implemented the EKM/IDR support for the backend entities and a real-time conflict-free sorting algorithm for drag and drop in real-time.
Outlook/Office directory listing service. When you go to the user invite dialogue, the listing from the outlook directory was built by me, including the FE and Backend.
Built `Slack for Gmail™` (6+ Million downloads)
Slack's add-in for Outlook.
i18n tooling for team integrated with real translator service.
SCIM/SAML/SSO support for email <-> slack interoperability.
