About

I was born and brought up in a small village in Madhubani (Bihar), where doing a BA or BSc was common, but I wanted to do something different. The biggest questions for me were “What?” and “Why?” Considering my schooling background, BBM was the best option, and to grow in my career, MBA was the go-to degree. :) After my MBA, the questions "What?" and "Why?" stuck with me and sparked my interest in Product Management, where we often ask, “What should be built?” and “Why build it?” With this mindset, I’ve successfully launched 6+ products over the last decade, and I’m still counting. However, the hardest part of my job is explaining to my family and relatives what I do. I'll tell you what I tell my family: I make applications just like Facebook or WhatsApp and manage them. What my family tells relatives: He is a manager in an international bank. ;) Jokes aside, the life of a Product Manager isn’t as simple as just asking for a timeline. We use the product in our mind before it gets developed and used by end users. We are responsible for the success or failure of the product. Making things easier for users isn't just about using fancy designs and reminders. It's about talking and collaborating with different groups and people involved, thinking about how much we gain compared to how much we spend, and being flexible in our roles. That's how we take the product from planning to real users. This doesn’t happen overnight and not without staying motivated and inspired. There's always something that fuels my daily fire, whether it's talking to end users, speaking with colleagues from different continents and blending into new cultures, long rides on my Jawa bike, reading all kinds of books, or listening to podcasts by amazing product managers and motivational speakers!
