Worked on Lucene Framework to provide search for various verticals of Naukri, NaukriGulf and FirstNaukri. Different applications (Recruiter Search, Resume Search, Job Search) include different search strategies and sorting algorithms. Backend process involved data cleaning, indexing and building search algorithms for the corresponding application. Programming language used was Java primarily and PERL for few scripts for data formatting. PHP was used to write certain front end processing of search queries entered by recruiters/users.
Worked with UIMA framework, NLP techniques, POS tagging to build a live resume parser which parses the resume uploaded by the candidate at the time of profile creation and prefills the form fields by extracting information out of the natural language text.
Built a classifier to predict the functional area, Industry type using the information provided in the job description or the candidate profile. After studying various classifiers, used MAXENT classification algorithm to predict the fields required.
