During my time in academia, I have strived towards formalizing the scientific approach to the discussion of nonlocal elasticity, and develop physically consistent constitutive models for non-trivial solids. At present, I work with Lam Research Corp. as a member of the RnD team that leads the development of plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) films. In essence, after working on macro-scale non-trivial structures, I am now trying to wrap my head around thin (~50kA) films; understanding of nonlocal physics has stayed on my side of the responsibilities and my only constant over the seemingly long time.
