A self-taught product designer actively solving problems since Jan 2014 (official) + 5 years of freelancing prior to this I have helped companies in domains like Entertainment, eCommerce, Hyperlocal, B2B, B2C, POS, Crypto, ERP, Campaign Management, Passion Economy, Logistics, Web3, Productivity, Edutech, and Claims Management Systems. ---------- When i started off, obviously like any young graduate I wanted to be at orgs like Google, Apple, Facebook, etc. but I also wanted to experience how the industry works across different scales of industries. Hence, I decided to join Openlabs (a start up) to help under the basics of experience design while I used my college skills to develop these solves, but soon I realized that the skillset requirements for design were rapidly changing, and I decided to focus on the aspect of disecting and analyzing problems a bit more at the beginning of my career. This helped me grow as a problem solver, while also analyzing the industry evolution that was in progress. I gave myself 5 years to perfect my art of problem solving with complex projects. This actually led me from one opportunity to another through my career. During my Flipkart stint, I was finally able to be very confident about the way I broke down problems to their basic core, so that I can apply first principle thinking on top to create solutions on near about any problem that I had clear insights about. Though it took 2.5 additional years, but I know it was worth it for me. Which brings us to now, where I am looking to invest the next 3 years of my career towards growing as a leader/manager to advance in my career, and since I loved my time spent nurturing new design talents joining the team across the various orgs I have been at, I would like to take that responsibility up as well.
