• The data engineering team is responsible for providing data for Analytics on Google Cloud Platform. Earlier data for analytics was being extracted from Teradata, this project involves building data lakes on Google cloud platform (GCP) thereby decommissioning the current Teradata system. The source data is extracted from various sources, i.e. Teradata tables, Mainframe files, Flat files from various regional warehouses. The data is processes and stored in avro/csv format in google storage and loaded into BigQuery tables which will be used for analytics and machine learning models.

• Currently the client runs most of their analytics on Teradata but is moving towards using Google Cloud Platform. The primary purpose of the project is to provide the data currently in Teradata to Google Cloud Platform. The project includes migration of existing tables from Teradata to GCP and setting up of the process to emulate the ETL process existing on Teradata for the BigQuery tables on GCP. It involves engineering new methods to load the data into BigQuery.

Primary role involves translating customer requirements into formal requirements and design documents, establish specific solutions, programming and testing that culminate in client acceptance of the results and managing deliverables that are intended to address the requests related to post processing of the loaded Data in the centralized DW. Responsible for developing and fixing issues related to initial data load from other data sources using Informatica ETL tool from various heterogeneous source systems and apply standard business logic to put the data into a centralized data warehouse.
