Combatting infectious diseases is one of the most important tasks for human
society since they kill more than 10 million people annually. Therefore, it is vital that we understand how an infectious disease spreads over time.
My job is to understand the dynamics of infectious disease using Surveillance data. One main goal of this research project is to develop a method for detecting possible changes in the trajectory of an epidemic. By analyzing Epidemiological data using Stochastic Epidemic Models and Deep learning techniques , we can provide insights on when an epidemic turns into a large one which is crucial for a timely intervention of the government.
