During my tenure as the Joint Secretary of the NSS committee, I led a dedicated team of 50 volunteers in Mumbai, forging partnerships with respected foundations such as IDF, Beach Please, No Honk, and ISKCON.
During this time:
We adopted and transformed a local school, Rajada, over 2 years, enhancing both curricular and co-curricular activities to foster holistic student development.
We adopted Vagani village, where we promoted awareness about policies, established a modern school with electronic resources, organized Swacch Bharat campaigns, introduced cleaner energy sources, offered free health checkups [900 residents], implemented water harvesting, and facilitated digital transactions.
We conducted four successful blood donation drives in Vile Parle, collecting over 1100 blood bags.
Our weekly activities included beach cleanups, mentoring in local schools, self-defence sessions, anti-spitting and anti-honking campaigns, street plays, visits to care homes, and more.
Our efforts were recognized with the "Best Committee Award" from IDF. Furthermore, we obtained official permits to expand our volunteer count from 50 to 75 through endorsements from Mumbai University and BMC, thus magnifying our community impact.
My role as Joint Secretary revolved around effective leadership, strategic partnerships, people management, budgeting, and creating tangible community impact.
