RO Varanasi has been implementing 8 National Highway projects in Uttar Pradesh East and invited Civil Engineering undergraduate students to learn and practically observe the construction of National Highways along with some additional maintenance projects.
I was posted in Project Implementation Unit Gorakhpur to work on 4-laning of Varanasi (Gazipur)-Gorakhpur Section of NH-29 (new NH-24). Everything from land acquisition measurement and calculation of reimbursement to the markings and construction of the National Highway, a practical approach to IRC codes, and hands-on experience was a part of this internship.

Under the SAMKALP Initiative of IIT Roorkee on the occasion of 175 years of the institute
Under the leadership of Mr. Anil Prakash Joshi, Padma Shri, and Padma Bhushan recipient, founder of HESCO, I worked for 2 months
on the analysis of MS Bridges set up in 15 different locations of the Himalayan Mountains for rural connectivity.
This analysis included the technical details and fabrication of the bridge along with its socio-economic impact on the selfsustainable mountainous villages. A thorough study of the Himalayan ecology along with site visits to the bridges situated in the valley for surveying was a major part of this internship.
