• MY ROLE:
• ► As per the requirement I joined as a Quality (QA/QC) Engineer here.
• ► My initial responsibility was to prepare a Project Quality Plan (PQP) and also prepare method statements for various construction works such as Excavation , Raft foundation, RCC works, General Repairs and Corrective works.
• ► Apart from preparing the documentation for the new project , I had a responsibility to conduct Concrete Trials with various Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) plants for various grades of concrete including M40 ( Concrete with ice flakes) , M40(normal), M70,M80.
• ► One of my responsibilities was to do Quality Assurance for all the construction works carried out at site (2 towers).
• ► I also had to prepare for the internal Quality Audits and conduct Management Review Meetings (QA/QC).

• ★Design of Breakwater for a Navy Port in Cheyyur, Pondicherry.
• ◆ My project dealt with the analysis and design of a detached breakwater for Cheyyur port. Various force parameters of the incoming waves were considered and the breakwater was designed. Run up distance for the design wave height was calculated which sets up the crest level of the breakwater. Calculations with various materials like accropods, tetrapods and quarry stone was carried out and the most economic and efficient material was used for the design. Volume of materials required for each layer was calculated. Geotechnical stability for the breakwater was checked and bearing capacity check and settlement analysis was carried out for the proposed breakwater section. Also cost estimation of breakwater was carried out and stated.
• ◆ The methods used for the design of armour unit are Vander Meer and Hudson Method. Both the methods give similar results.
