• As a senior engineer in Commerce team, I worked on the Billing Migrations Platform
• This ambitious endeavor involved migrating customer billing information from a legacy system to a state-of-the-art, microservices-based billing platform, a task that necessitated a deep dive into diverse customer data sets and the formulation of a robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process.
• The complexity of the migration is significant, given the variety of customer data involved. It required not only a thorough understanding of the data's intricacies but also the development of a tailored approach to accurately and efficiently transition this data to the new system.
• To achieve this, I led the design and development of a Java microservice-based ETL service. This platform served as the backbone of our migration strategy, facilitating the seamless transfer of data by orchestrating the ETL processes with proper auditing, alerting and monitoring.
• My work also presented an opportunity to mentor and lead a team of engineers. I took great pride in guiding my team through the technical challenges of the migration process, sharing knowledge, and fostering a collaborative environment that encouraged innovation and problem-solving.
