About

No risk. No story. I’ve spent the last 20 years marketing products that have defined industries — Apple, ALLEN, Flipkart, Vodafone, and Amazon. Along the way, I’ve learnt a few things. First, timing for an idea is everything. At Vodafone, I launched 3G and 4G during India’s mobile revolution — when a mobile phone was still a luxury, not a utility. That experience taught me what it means to build communication railroads at a national scale. Second, commerce is the soul of every economy. My time at Amazon and Flipkart showed me that building frictionless product experiences matters far more than chasing shiny objects. These companies rewrote the way India shops — and taught me everything I know about the Indian consumer. Third, there’s no such thing as marketing copy — it’s all product copy. Apple changed how I think about craft, product, and people. It taught me that the best marketing is inseparable from the product itself. Fourth, AI is no longer the future — it’s the foundation. I saw this firsthand when we launched an AI-powered learning platform at ALLEN. Today, you can build any consumer experience at a fraction of the cost — and we’re just getting started. I’m extremely bullish on this piece. Apart from being a marketer for the past 20 years, I absolutely love basketball (I still dream of playing in the NBA :). On weekends, I spend time building my two proudest startups — Zuvin (5 years old) and Advay (8 years old). Right now, I'm taking a pause — traveling, speaking with founders in the trenches, and figuring out the next category I want to bet on and build.

Allen

Chief Marketing Officer

Dec 2023May 2025 · 1 yr 5 mos · Bangalore, Mumbai · On-site

  • Joined during a critical transformation phase after a $600M investment by Bodhi Tree Systems — with a clear mandate: modernise an iconic offline brand, accelerate digital expansion, and defend leadership in a rapidly evolving education market.
  • At the heart of this shift was launching Allen’s first AI-powered personalised learning platform, which crossed 10M+ downloads within the first year. Alongside, we transformed the 37 year old brand — this repositioned Allen as a digital-first education brand.
  • We crafted new-age storytelling to resonate with India’s largest NEET and JEE aspirant base. Was tasked to build and scale a 250+ member marketing team across brand, performance, PR, media planning and consumer insights.
  • Under this structure, we expanded ALLEN into 12 new cities, launched multiple online programs, rolled out a national MS Dhoni × ALLEN campaign, created an original web series with TVF, and set new creative standards that reshaped marketing in the education sector.
  • We 1.5X’ed the digital business at 70% lesser CAC in under 12 months.

Apple

Senior Marketing & Communications Manager

Jun 2018Dec 2023 · 5 yrs 6 mos · Cupertino, Gurgaon

  • A masterclass in Marketing. This school taught me brand building. It changed how I think about brand, ROI, product & finding great people.
  • My entry to Apple was very early - Apple had ~1% market share in India & there was a mountain that we had to cross. Apple had been in India for too long with and had not grown much.
  • I had a very clear goal — to solve partner-led communications for Apple. For context, partners contribute to over 95% of Apple’s overall revenue. However, in India at the time, this potential remained largely untapped.
  • In the months & quarters to follow, our team set & grew Apple’s partner communications vertical, built omni-channel marketing strategies & drove deep local relevance. And I say this with utmost genuineness that the market taught me so many things about the Indian value conscious consumer.
  • Built the product launch playbook to drive the launch of iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch & Apple Services via partner ecosystems.
  • Also, one big focus for Apple was expanding beyond the metros. I led the push into Tier 2 & smaller cities. This also helped unlock new audiences who were new to Apple (especially GenZ & content creators). Through this work, we grew Apple’s market share from under 1% to 12%.

Amazon

Global Product Marketing Lead for Native Advertising

Jul 2016Jun 2018 · 1 yr 11 mos · Palo Alto, California, United States

  • When I joined Amazon’s A9 team, Native Shopping Ads (NSA) was a brand-new product. Most global publishers didn’t even know content monetisation at scale was possible — and our job was to change that.
  • In following months, we started by building the brand identity and go-to-market strategy for Native Shopping Ads from scratch. A big focus was education — we needed to help publishers across North America, Europe, and Asia understand how they could monetise their content without compromising on user experience.
  • We worked directly with publishers, helping them onboard, optimise, and scale. We built a full resource centre and launched educational programs to make it easier for publishers to adopt NSA. Also, led the launch of the UK market operations and managed 17+ high-value publisher accounts.
  • In 18 months, we grew the publisher base by 10x and drove over 3X-ed YoY revenue growth. It was a crash course in building new market categories, blending product marketing & sales enablement at global scale.

Flipkart

Product Marketing & Growth Lead

Aug 2014Jul 2016 · 1 yr 11 mos · Bangalore, India

  • At Flipkart, I had a front-row seat to India's e-commerce revolution.
  • I joined when Flipkart was shifting gears — moving from a retailer to a full-service platform. My focus was on two big bets: growing the seller ecosystem and launching new consumer tech products that could change how India shopped.
  • On the seller side, I helped build Flipkart’s Seller Hub brand from scratch. We went from just 2,000 sellers to over 100,000 in a year — through national campaigns, platform marketing, and new engagement programs that made it easier for entrepreneurs across India to come online. We weren't just running ads; we were helping change the way India does business.
  • On the consumer side, I led marketing for new products like Exchange, Ping, Image Search, and Payments — shaping how they were positioned, launched, and adopted by millions of users. It meant working closely with product, design, engineering, and diving deep into what Indian consumers really needed at the time.
  • Flipkart taught me what it takes to build platforms that don’t just grow — they change the fabric of a country.

Vodafone

Manager, Product Marketing

Jun 2011Aug 2014 · 3 yrs 2 mos · Mumbai (HQ), Karnataka, Rajasthan and Assam & North East, India

  • This is where I first learned how to build for millions at scale — across different regions, roles, and customer realities.
  • I started in frontline sales across Rajasthan and North East India, selling in some of the most diverse and challenging markets in the country. It taught me the real meaning of distribution, resilience, and customer trust.
  • From there, I moved into marketing and product roles — first in Assam & North East, and later pan-India. I handled a portfolio of 900+ products, working across product management, customer segmentation, strategy, design, campaigns, and offline and digital marketing.
  • One of my proudest moments was the “Everybody Wins with Vodafone” — the largest personalised consumer promotion in telecom history — which reached over 150 million customers and won Vodafone’s Global Hero Award.
  • I also worked on special projects like dynamic discounting and airtime credit, built digital growth initiatives under the “digital simplicity” program, used cell-site data to optimise communication, cut costs, and improve conversion.
  • Vodafone gave me a crash course in building high-impact programs, manage complexity at scale, and always stay close to the customer — no matter how big the numbers got.
