I'm Anirban Nandi, Head of AI Products and Analytics at Rakuten India. With over 18 years of experience in Data Sciences, Data Engineering, Analytics & Machine/ Deep Learning, I leverage the power of data to drive innovation and enhance user experiences across Retail, Fintech, Telecommunications Media/ Entertainment and other Business verticals. My journey in Data & AI started at Target, where I developed key in-house products on recommendation, search, amongst many others, leading to significant business impact. As a founding member of Data Labs at Landmark Group, I built and led a high-performing team focused on Customer, Inventory, Pricing, developing cognitive solutions that delivered greater insights from customers while also impacting topline and bottom-line. Today, I lead a diverse team of 200+ talented Data & AI professionals at Rakuten India. We develop cutting-edge algorithms and implement large scalable production systems that have driven significant business impact in E-commerce, Advertising, Telecommunication, and others. I also champion Rakuten's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives, fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and promotes collaboration. Recognized as a thought leader in the Indian AI community, I authored a book “Interpreting machine learning models” on AI explainability and have been honored as one of the Top AI Leaders in India four times (2021-2024) and as a Top 10 AI Leader in APAC for 2023 and 2024. I am passionate about addressing global challenges through technology, with a focus on fairness and transparency in AI initiatives. Outside of work, I’m an avid sports enthusiast and a devoted soccer fan. Balancing my personal interests and professional life inspires me daily.
