With decades of experience in banking and fintech, Olivier Crespin has contributed to the transformation of financial institutions across Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and New York. His career reflects broad leadership across front-, middle-, and back-office functions at Citibank and DBS Bank, where he helped shape modern, digital-first banking. At DBS, Olivier served as Head of Digital Bank, where he helped design and launch DBS Digibank India, the country’s first mobile-only, paperless, and branchless bank, later extending the model to Indonesia. He also led DBS’s first AI project in 2014, laying the foundation for the bank’s data-driven transformation. Earlier, as Managing Director & COO of Wealth Management and Private Bank, he aligned risk, compliance, and operations to create the Wealth Continuum, connecting mass affluent to UHNW clients. At Citibank, his path culminated in New York as Global Head of Operations for Citi Private Bank / Smith Barney, where he streamlined processes, strengthened controls, and led transformation programs, including the Y2K transition and major right-shoring initiatives. Olivier later co-founded and launched Zand Bank, the UAE’s first licensed digital bank serving both retail and corporate clients. Designed as a digital economic enabler, Zand integrates ecosystems and technology to deliver inclusive, data-driven services. An IBF Fellow, Olivier is Founder of OEC Consultants L.L.C and Program Director at CFTE, focusing on digital bank creation, licensing, and transformation. He has also returned to DBS in a senior consulting capacity, supporting key digital initiatives. A lifelong learner and investor in digital assets and AI, including four unicorns in Web3 and financial services, he continues to bridge traditional finance and DeFi, championing innovation that creates long-term value for institutions and communities.
