With over 27 years of experience with international and Indian consumer brands, at PepsiCo, Unilever, Reckitt, and Henkel, I focus on sales, marketing, brand building, and growth strategy. Some of the brands I worked on during my corporate stint included: Coca-Cola, Adidas, Veet, Lizol, Dove, Sunsilk, All Clear, Clinic Plus, Taaza Tea, Quaker, Aliva crackers, Lehar, Cheetos, and for the longest part – Kurkure. Since 2018, when I started CherryPeachPlum, we have worked on over ninety brands, helping them grow profitably with a challenger mindset. These include large brands like Mars Foods, Dabur Honey, Dabur Vatika and Sanifresh. But what I enjoy most is working with young companies and founders who are at the cusp of scale up. This portfolio includes CARS24, The Baker’s Dozen, Nature’s Essence, Bisk Farm, Slimfast Glanbia, Kapiva, AgroStar, Daivic Biostimulant, Kenko Eggs, Gytree – by She the People, Country Harvest, Tiber Taber, Fitterfly, Josh Talks, Arcelor Mittal, Medfin, Chorus Call, Alyve and RailYatri (IntrCity). I have also worked with several Shark Tank featured ventures including Fit & Flex, Amrutam, Pilgrim, Homestrap, and Happilo. I have worked in India, Africa and the Middle East and in diverse sectors such as F&B, FMCG, Med-Tech, Fin-Tech, Media Content, B2B, Service and Agro Brands. Mentored over 500 startup founders, many on a pro bono basis, through one on ones and workshops. We typically solve for problems on sales growth, building strong brands, identifying the right customer segment, getting to profit/ improving profit, right sales and distribution strategies, developing the right communication plan, arriving at the right sales channel mix (GT-MT-Online), media strategies, portfolio and revenue management across channels, identifying the right celebrity and more. I serve as an Independent Director on the board of Shiprocket; besides acting as a marketing advisor to KPMG and as visiting faculty at Ashoka University, where I teach two courses in Branding and Consumer Behaviour. My work has been recognized through multiple innovation and performance awards at PepsiCo. I was also on the Business Today ‘40 Under 40’ young executives list in 2015. And in doing that, we would be doing what we were born to do in this universe!
