  • My role is to lead key business development projects and have strategic oversight for ‘Individual’ clients (consumer banking) in - Ukrsibbank in Ukraine (~500 branches), BGZ-BNPP in Poland (~500 branches), TEB in Turkey (~600 branches). I currently report to the global head of retail for International Retail Banking and am a member of the IRB Retail ExCo.
  • Examples of my work: Provide strategic oversight to the integration of Bank BGZ and BNP Paribas in Poland for the retail banking taskforce and lead implementation of new business initiatives – acquiring, innovative payments and affluent banking.
  • Co-lead the restructuring of Ukrsibbank retail banking by leading discussions on cost synergies, process simplification, launch/re-launch of activities – cards & payments, affluent banking, implementation of digital sales tools in the network and SME business
  • Co-lead the team that was responsible to study the feasibility to expand retail banking activities to China/Singapore by developing pure digital banks and study partnership opportunities with leading internet companies for mobile wallets/cross border payments
  • Co-lead the possible acquisition of a leading digital online brokerage company in Asia and the development of pure-play internet banking business.

  • BNP Paribas Egypt had 62 branches, ~350k retail clients and ~3500 employees in Egypt. The bank was sold for ~ $500mn in 2013
  • As the head of retail banking and member of the bank’s executive committee I was responsible to lead the transformation of the retail banking business to break-even, while developing a resilient bank that could withstand the socio-economic crisis following the revolution.
  • I led the complete transformation of retail including launch of many new initiatives – creating of a small business activity, implementing new segmentation and portfolio allocation, re-launch the credit and debit card business, launch of a new loyalty program, set-up of an SME academy, develop a new HR, compensation & training policy and redesign network management. We achieved break-even in 24 months, increased client acquisition/ revenue per client / cross sell rate by over 30%, maintained provisions during crisis at pre-crisis levels and completed sale of the bank successfully to Emirates NBD, Dubai.
