About

Hi! I’m Avanti, and I’m passionate about creativity, culture and community. As an "internet older sister," I break down taboos and build bridges through open dialogue and impact-driven initiatives. We explore issues around education, health and gender with our digital community of over 1.5 million and growing! I strongly believe art and dialogue are vehicles for social change. As a performer, I’ve spoken and performed on 100+ stages across the world, ranging from venues and festivals to conferences and institutions. We’ve released original music exploring themes around consent, bodily autonomy and relationships, built projects like #50Songs50Weeks50Languages and was almost arrested for putting on a play (scroll down for details on that)! As an entrepreneur - I strongly believe that every creative IS an entrepreneur, and they don the strange dichotomy of being both the product and the CEO, especially in a social media dominated world. My artist career notwithstanding, I’ve also founded a production company called Golden Milk Media, a forward-thinking media house dedicated to socially conscious storytelling through films, web series, and audiovisual productions. Most recently, built The Hot Buns Studio in Mumbai, which is vibrant hub for diverse creative talents and a multipurpose studio designed to bring (all kinds of) creative dreams to life. I’m currently working on building a startup at the intersection of the creative, business and technology worlds, so stay tuned :))

  • Founded the Carnival of Culture, a first-of-its-kind global nonprofit that reimagines what culture means in today’s world. Think: a modern-day mela meets TED meets a cultural renaissance.
  • We brought it to life out of my #50Songs50Weeks50Languages project where I collaborated with artists from all over the globe to sing 50 songs in 50 different languages in 50 weeks. This digital series hit over 500 million views, inspired millions of recreations, and was also recognized by India’s Ministry of Culture for its use of music for multiculturalism.
  • Through the Carnival of Culture, we create spaces and opportunities to bring identity, sustainability, youth voices, and education to life through immersive festivals, workshops, pop‑ups, conferences, and digital storytelling. We just had our first edition in Mumbai. We're now building a global movement, can't wait to tell you more about it! Stay tuned!
